Are annual maintenance audits necessary?

Are maintenance audits mandatory every year?
  • According to the ISO/IEC 17021-1 standard applied by the certifying body, management system supervision audits must be performed at least once a year. If the maintenance audit is not carried out at the established periodicity, the issued certificates (their validity) are suspended or cancelled.
