The meaning of the LST EN 60601-2-52 standard, why is it needed:
This standard applies to electric medical beds intended for the care of adult patients in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities and at home.
LST EN 60601-2-52 determines:
- basic safety and
- essential operational requirements;
- indicates tests of medical beds;
- provides guidelines for their application.
During device testing, the following is defined:
- classification and labeling;
- electrical parameters;
- mechanical parameters.
LST EN 60601-2-52 standard applies to:
- for electric medical beds;
- not for electric medical beds.
LST EN 60601-2-52 standard does not apply:
- for beds that are not classified as medical equipment.
